Went to the Eagle last night and ran into a bunch of friends. Saw the Bobbleheads, Whoa Nellies and a rawkin’ AC/D-She cover band with all the usual suspects. Hairrison weekend is in full swing today and in less than 24 hours you’ll need to be at the Eagle for the 2nd Annual Surrender the Booty Bears Gone Wild Amateur Bear Strippers Fundraiser (for Team Bear in this year’s AIDS Lifecycle). We’ll have Mudflap Bear t-shirts for sale and bumper sticker giveaways.
Saturday, September 1st Noon to 6pm at the Eagle.
Music by Stink Mitt.
We had a lot of fun this weekend. So much fun in fact, we started a Bubbalovesit.com t-shirt video contest. With prizes!
1. Buy a shirt at bubbalovesit.com
2. Make 60 second (or less) a video rated PG (or less) featuring the shirt with bubbalovesit.com in it somewhere.
3. Upload to youtube.com and send us a link with your name and address.
The first fifty people to post a video get a bumper sticker and another free shirt of their choice!
Now go rawk.

Cleanin’ off the dirty hippy.
Another fantastic Lazy Bear…
has come and gone. Thanks to Harry for the many years of Lazy Love, Rotten Robbie and Eric for wreckin’ the dance floor again and again, Growler for the liveblogging and the fellas that took the time to try and hunt us down at Lazy Bear this year. We’ll try to get some pictures up before next year’s Lazy Bear…
Up next: Hairrison!
It’s not just Hairrison either. It’s SF Bear Week leading up to it. Oy. So much to do and so much fun to have. Get a Hairrison Charity Bear Tag and you’ll get into a bunch of stuff for free and big discounts on the rest of the fun.
We’ll be there at the fair and on Saturday, Sept 1 at the SF Eagle for our Bears Gone Wild Beer Bust. We’ll have the stripper pole and amateur bear strippers for your enjoyment again. They’ll be takin’ it off for charity, so bring lots of bills!
If you’re wondering what all the fuss is about, Victor made an awesome video of his day at the BGW Beer Bust last year. And man, could he work that pole…

Holy crap. I just figured out how to upload photos to BGW from my iPhone. Sweet! Here’s a pic of Brent enjoying Saturday afternoon in the creek behind the house.
Sunday Furry Sunday, the final pool party of Lazy Bear, and the place was packed.
DJ Rotten Robbie kept the crowd going all day, the beer truck ran out of beer (and was hastily replenished), the pool area was completely mental, and nearly everyone kept their clothes on. I was rather surprised at the number of new faces in the crowd, and a little sad that I hadn’t met half these people a few days ago. Like Fred the Plumber.
No-one thinks of the aftermath of a pool party. Sure, it’s fun lounging around enjoying the redneck music (Thanks to DJs Seymour, Rotten Robbie and Jeb), big boys in cutoffs, pie-eating contests and deep-fried twinkies, but next morning, poolside…
“Eeep!” said Fish. “does that seabird need rescuing? Should I call greenpeace? Or do you think I can wash it down with Dawn myself?”. Robbie was speechless as the blood drained from his face, and Karen sobbed quietly in the corner.
Nick the super-sexy pool guy was more practical. “I’m going to need a gallon of chlorine, a tub of clarifiers, and a priest. And a couple of days. You guys had some party!”
Thanks Kuma|SF for a fantastic Deliverance pool party, one of the most fun parties yet!
The 3-location pool parties are a blast, but the most fun is watching the streams of bears walking ceaselessly from one to the other, trying to find the perfect combination of music, pool, and crowd.
So we had the wild party at the West Sonoma (platform dancers, margaritas and people actually IN the pool),
And down the street the clothing optional party at the Woods (I cannot unsee what I saw, and I wasn’t brave enough to take photos) and the super-social party at the RRR
(how do these people find the time to go to the gym that much? Not that I’m complaining, it was rather sceinic)
9am-10am Bear Boot Camp, West Sonoma Inn
I don’t exercise. Never have: why waste all that energy when you could be using the same energy doing something practical. I almost rethought that today when Julian, the exercise instructor, turned up to take Bear Boot Camp, the daily exercise and stretching routine.
Turns out Julian’s routine was aimed towards waking up and minimising repetitive-drinking injuries. I can handle that, and if Julian’s out front tomorrow flexing and stretching I may even be there…
Day one, Wednesday. It’s on the program, but it seems very few people actually arrive on Wednesday, which I don’t understand; something about having jobs to go to instead? It doesn’t sound like much of a reason to me, because there’s a pool here and it’s warm and DJ Seymour totally rocked the place out.
The opening party was much busier and a hell of a lot of fun. The non-profit beer was served in tumblers as big as my head, and by the time I remembered to take photos I was too late- I was having trouble focusing my own eyes, let alone a camera.
